The Menendez family has been deeply involved in El Salvadorian coffee production for generations, but it wasn’t until 1996 that Ernesto Menendez began his pursuit. Ernesto began his career on a farm called Finca San Carlos which he inherited from his grandfather. Since taking over the Finca, Ernesto has acquired and runs four additional coffee farms. Finca Alaksa, named for the cool weather up in the mountains on the day he first visited it, is among them.

Sitting on the slope of the Santa Ana volcano, Finca Alaska boasts rich volcanic soils and an elevation 1720m above sea level. These fertile soils help produce amazing Maracaturra, SL28, and Red and Orange Bourbon. We have worked with this farm since 2016 and are looking foward to many more years of successful partnership with Ernesto and Finca Alaska.
